Painting has taken over my life. Well, when I haven't been working anyway. A month and a half later, I have 3 rooms completely painted but still have 3 to finish. I know it will all come together perfectly, but it is taking a lot longer than I expected. I have also had other projects going on as well.
My room is a bright, Kelly green. All of my furniture is black and white, so I'm planning to decorate the rest of the room in black and white too. Here is a preview...

House update!
The closing on my house occurred on July 3rd, as planned. After closing, my mom, Justin and I started the beginning procedures to paint. We started with the living room, which had to be primed first. The previous color was a yellowish-gold and we transformed it into a light tan/khaki color. (pictures to come). I am the type of person that wants things done immediately, and I often have a hard time accepting the fact that paint has to actually dry. Throw a little primer in the mix and it makes the whole paint-drying process seem like years!
In the midst of painting, my kitchen faucet was making this whistling noise. Yes, it was aggravating but it wasn't anything that couldn't be ignored. Well, for me anyway. Justin, being the handyman that he is, couldn't take the whistling any longer. He was determined to fix it. In doing so, the whistling disappeared but so did my water pressure. Well, me being the non-handy-woman that I am, I had no idea that it was something that couldn't be easily fixed. Boy was I wrong! Being unsure of what the exact problem was, I decided to buy a new faucet in hopes that it would fix all of my kitchen sink issues. End result...
I now have a beautiful, new, two-handled, stainless steel, $110 faucet! And even better, normal water pressure. :)
My single bathroom is probably the closest to being complete. I like the color it was previously painted, so I've decided to keep it. I love my shower curtain (Marshall's, $15), my soap dispenser, toothbrush holder, and storage container (also Marshall's, all approx $7 each). The only things I have left to do in my bathroom are hang my atomic clock (thanks Nana & GDaddy!), organize my cabinets and drawers, and find a place for my large array of perfume. And I do mean large. Yes. I might be addicted.
I started painting the dining room. It was the same color as the living room and now, it's a bright red. I have envisioned my "future" dining room as being red for quite some time now. I was a little hesitant to do such a bold color, because you never know how it will turn out. Well I must say, so far so good. I love it! I am having a painting done of pears that is going to look great on the red walls.
I've got to go for now. More updates coming soon! :)

Its Been a While.
Yes, I have re-entered the blog world. I am buying my first house in the big city of Memphis. (I close July 3rd....eek!) Because of that, I have decided to update my blog to keep family and friends up to speed on the progress of my very first house! If you know me, you would know that I'm a fairly crafty person. With the new house, I am attempting to become ever more of a DIY-er. I hope to include that here too. Stay tuned.....

Christmas Decor and So Much More (part 1.5!)
I have just a short time to write a little something and attach a few pictures.
This is the mailbox with the mesh swag. ((btw, I am not the rubbermaid mailbox's biggest fan)). Oh, and please don't stare too long at the leaves! :)
Front door.
Mantle pre-decorations.
Mantle mid-decorations. Still in progress, but you get the idea.
I'm gonna have to reserve the pictures of the actual fireplace for later.
Goodnight and God bless!

Christmas Decor and So Much More (part 1)
I'm trying to get the hang of this blogging thing. I have spent much more time trying to customize my blog than actually "blogging". But I think I am satisfied...for now.
Today, my mom and I FINALLY tackled the task of the Christmas Tree. I, myself, thoroughly enjoy decorating for Christmas, but I want things to be as I picture them in my head. Sometimes, however, it doesn't turn out the way I envisioned. Needless to say, its 1:55 AM and, well, the tree is up, but it has no ornaments on it yet.
The outdoor decorations are completed. Last weekend, I purchased a nifty mailbox mesh swag at the Christmas Market in the whopping town of Pope, MS (population approx 300). Why it took a week to actually find its place on the mailbox...well, I can't answer that. On the front door, there is a stocking made out of window screen, painted and looking fabulous. ((pictures to come)) Around the doorway is lighted garland with red, wired ribbon wrapped around it. We did the lighted garland and the wrapped ribbon last year, and for some reason, I don't remember it being as difficult as it seemed this year. But, its done! There is also a large, lighted wreath that is hanging on the outside of the house, on the brick. We have a spotlight shining on it to enhance. The outside of the house is coming along quite nicely, but the inside has a little ways to go.
I have some pretty creative ideas for some things to do on the inside. But I will let that be a surprise!
It's about that time. Goodnight and God bless.

The Beginning.
Yes, its true. I have made the decision to start a blog. What, exactly, I will blog about, I am unsure of at this point. But hopefully, it will be a new and exciting journey! Also, any blogging tips and/or helpful hints are much appreciated!
